The Lighthouse Keeper

During a severe storm, the light on the West Pier lighthouse went out, causing risk to ships in the harbour.
The lighthouse keeper rushed out to fix it but slipped on the rain-soaked, slippery stairs and fell to his death.
If you walk the West Pier on a stormy night you may well see a dark, wet and lonesome figure holding a lantern continuing his job from the grave.
Or listen carefully for the sound of footsteps on the lighthouse stairs…
