The Barguest

   The barguest of Whitby is a legendary huge black hound with fierce red eyes that glow like burning coals.
   Folklore tells of the shadowy creature being an omen of death haunting the local area with its dreaded howl or sudden appearance meaning imminent death to someone nearby. It’s said the howl can still be heard to this day.
